You satisfy the hungry heart. Omer Westendorf* (1916-1997).
This hymn was the official hymn of the 41st International Eucharistic Conference of the Roman Catholic Church held at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1976. It was the winner of a competition held by the Archdiocese to mark the occasion. Westendorf had sent his words to Robert E. Kreutz* (1922-96), choir director of the Church of St Bernadette at Lakewood, Colorado and a noted Catholic composer, and words and music (tune, BICENTENNIAL) together were submitted to the competition committee.
